Eat Your Way Through
Kitsap County History
In 1902 Nels Nelson moved his family from South Dakota to the Silverdale area and settled on a 40 acre ranch in the southern part of Central Valley. it is said that he built his hoem with timber that was carried on a man's back from Barker's Creek. Dairy farming and chicken ranching were Nelson's interst and as the family grew so did the farm and the business. In 1935, the old home was replaced by one of brick, which today is owned by Don and Pat Langhord. They have graciously consented to let us visit their home and barn, both of which are filled with the Langhord's collection of fabulous antiques and collectibles.
You won't want to miss this intersting destination follwed by a creative lunch at the Old Town Bistro in Silverdale.
